Six Sigma Management Institute and IdealHire form Six Sigma Global Registry

Six Sigma Management Institute, a consulting and training venture associated with the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering at Arizona State University, and IdealHire, a provider of human resources services, have formed the Six Sigma Global Registry, a joint venture for driving Six Sigma Generation III standardization.

Six Sigma Generation III focuses on driving the savings from reduced errors to the bottom line of small and large companies. The online service will provide standards for registry, assessment, training, qualification and certification of practitioners, and access to consulting services for enterprises of any size.

"The Registry will drive Six Sigma III by establishing a global standard for measuring and certifying knowledge and experience levels of practitioners based on ASU’s Six Sigma curriculum," says Mikel J. Harry, chairman of the board and president of Six Sigma Management Institute. "The online affordability and accessibility of the Six Sigma Global Registry will drive profitability for a wider cross-section of companies. Small companies will benefit with an affordable means of using Six Sigma, and large companies will be able to quickly spread Six Sigma profit-driving practices into everyday processes."

"With one-week seminars churning out so-called Black Belts--sometimes without hands-on experience--organizations need a standard to measure individual knowledge and experience," adds Phong Vu, CEO of Six Sigma Management Institute. "The registry provides that standard based on ASU Six Sigma courses for assessing and certifying both the knowledge and experience of the practitioner. Aspiring and current Six Sigma practitioners can learn where their knowledge and experience ranks as compared to other practitioners, and how to improve career advancement opportunities."
