Published: Sunday, May 2, 2004 - 22:00 The Juran Institute Inc. will celebrate the 100th birthday of Joseph M. Juran, the organization’s founder and a pioneering architect of quality management. The celebration, slated for May 6, 2004, encompasses two other significant anniversaries. This year also marks the 25th anniversary of the Juran Institute and the 50th anniversary of Juran’s historic trip to Japan. Juran’s trip came at the behest of Japanese leaders wishing to realize the benefits of quality management in their businesses. The visit’s success marked a turning point in Japan’s economic development. The Juran Institute will celebrate all three milestones at an invitation-only tribute from at the Marriott Hotel in Stamford, Connecticut. Friends, family and associates who have benefited from Juran’s work—including Robert Galvin, chairman emeritus of Motorola Corp.—will make brief presentations during the event, and Juran will offer closing remarks. “Juran Institute is proud to celebrate its 25th year of carrying on the important work and teachings of Juran,” says Joseph A. De Feo, president and CEO of Juran Institute. “We thank Juran for his unsurpassed contributions to the field of quality and for his continued support and leadership.” For more information, click here.
