Company News: WENZEL Acquires Steintek GmbH

Steintek GmbH becomes WENZEL ScanTec GmbH.

Published: Tuesday, August 4, 2009 - 13:52

(WENZEL Group GmbH: Wiesthal, Germany) -- The acquisition of Steintek GmbH, located in Greding, Germany, by the WENZEL Group GmbH & Co. KG that was already announced at the Control exhibition in Stuttgart, Germany, this past May, has now been successfully concluded. The contracts for the 100 percent acquisition of Steintek were signed on July 31 in Wiesthal. Steintek will operate as an independent company inside WENZEL Group under the new name WENZEL ScanTec GmbH.

The acquired Steintek GmbH is one of the technology leaders for high-speed measuring and digitizing systems. The technology is based on a white-light distance sensor technology that is adapted for all types of surfaces and customized for the production applications. The systems detect and analyze even the lowest defects and assure a fast feedback with fully customizable reports. The systems are mainly applied in measuring of complex parts such as turbine blades, blisk, and impellers.

By the integration into WENZEL Group, ScanTec GmbH is able to use the available capacity for development and the global distribution network of the WENZEL Group. Klaus Mühlberger, managing director of ScanTec GmbH, will continue in his position.

There are no changes for existing customers. All known contacts will remain in their current positions.
